Designers are constantly recreating fashion styles from days past; it’s a trend cycle that happens about every decade. Hungry for something fresh, today’s fashion followers around the globe are ready and eager to snap up the latest and greatest pieces worn by their favorite celebrity or blogger.
With fur trends, we are now seeing new lighter and brighter colors and styles that are uplifting the dark fur coats of decades past. Gone are the days of playing dress up in Grandma’s pearls, furs and patent heels. Yet the fashionistas of today are excited to find new ways with reclaimed, recycled and preowned fur too and if they are lucky enough they’ll be gifted a fur piece by Grandma as “Old” is now the new “New” and fur is back in style in a big way!
Color and detail have been the main ingredients in this recent fur clothing revival, though classic colors never officially went out of style, it’s colored fur that is the new hot-ticket on our shopping list. Coats like the red and pink with striped detail shown above by J Mendel Paris are coveted masterpieces and owning one of these fur coats will instantly jet you to paparazzi worthy style status.
These enlightened colors are also wearable into late spring. Paired in the right combinations such as with flowing floral mini dresses and feminine accents, we will see these fur coats on the street long after the last snow has melted. The pale pink fur overcoat shown below was featured in the Coach Spring 2015 show.
So if you’re obsessing over fur like we are, dare to wear colored fur this spring but beware… like a true fashion star, prepare to be photographed!
